چکیده

Abstract The paper studies the influence of light weight aerated autoclaved concrete (AAC) partitioning walls to a medium height reinforced structure, in Bucharest (Romania). building is designed as framed structure with non-bearing AAC placed certain bays. There bearing full bricks masonry wall one Full are used because its high strength compared AAC. aim determine importance placement, both and AAC, for building’s behavior. analysis points out structure’s elastic plastic behavior also efforts developed walls. wall’s very important, built seismic area. To extend study, replaced one. This done see how it impacts behavior, stage. concludes that placements have significant on structure.

Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Frames Infilled by Masonry Walls with Different Heights

This study carried out comparative seismic performance of reinforced concrete frames infilled by masonry walls with different heights. Partial and fully infilled reinforced concrete frames were modeled for the research objectives and the analysis model for a bare reinforced concrete frame was also established for comparison. Non–linear static analyses for the studied frames were performed to in...

Assessment of Masonry Infilled Reinforced-concrete Frames with Openings

Original scientific paper Reinforced-concrete (R/C) frames infilled with masonry wall, especially with the presence of an opening, are insufficiently explored structural elements. We have experimentally investigated influence of the opening’s type and position to the lateral response of reinforced-concrete frames with masonry infill. Correction factors, that take into account influence of the o...

Effect of Unreinforced Masonry Infill Walls on Seismic Performance of Reinforced Concrete Framed Structures

Unreinforced Masonry infill walls (URM) are commonly used in the Reinforced Concrete (RC) framed structures as interiors and exteriors partition walls. Although they usually are not considered in the structural analysis and design, their influence on the seismic performance of the framed structures is significant. A common practice in the modern and old RC buildings is to remove the URM walls i...

Performance Based Design of Masonry Infilled Reinforced Concrete Frames for Near-Field Earthquakes Using Energy Methods

Performance based design (PBD) is an iterative exercise in which a preliminary trial design of the building structure is selected and if the selected trial design of the building structure does not conform to the desired performance objective, the trial design is revised. In this context, development of a fundamental approach for performance based seismic design of masonry infilled frames with ...

Performance Based Seismic Retrofit of Masonry Infilled Reinforced Concrete Frames Using Passive Energy Dissipation Devices

The paper presents a plastic analysis procedure based on the energy balance concept for performance based seismic retrofit of multi-story multi-bay masonry infilled reinforced concrete (R/C) frames with a ‘soft’ ground story using passive energy dissipation (PED) devices with the objective of achieving a target performance level of the retrofitted R/C frame for a given seismic hazard level at t...
